I'm a professional painter. I live in the Seattle area. I show at Davidson Galleries/Davidson Contemporary in Seattle, and Elizabeth Leach Gallery in Portland. I am known for my landscape and urban landscape images. I teach an ongoing landscape painting class from April through November, and also teach a studio class "Studio Practice for the Plein Air Painter" during the winter months. My work appears in many corporate and private collections in the United States and Europe.
I grew up in Spirit Lake Idaho and Spokane Washington. I studied painting at Fort Wright College of the Holy Names in Spokane and California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. I also studied privately for several years in New York and Boston. I've taught at Fort Wright College, The Spokane Art School, The Academy for Realist Art (now The Gage Academy,) and have guest lectured at Marymount Manhattan College in New York, Whitworth College in Spokane, Eastern Washington University in Cheney, University of Washington in Seattle, and The Gage Academy.
I train regularly in Seido Juku Karate. I have nidan or second degree black belt ranking, promoting in New York at World Seido Honbu in 2007. I have participated in many tournaments, in New York and Tokyo Japan. I am the assistant instructor in Seido Karate for adult classes at the Northshore YMCA in Bothell, WA, and assistant instructor for kids classes at our PNA location, on Phinney Ridge in Seattle. I am also the Seattle Seido Karate webmaster (http://www.seattleseido.org).
